ST. CATHARINES, Ontario, October 11, 2005 - ACTION Corporation has been honored with an award for its role in the Seaway Mall's winning of the international MAXI Award for internet services relating to a marketing initiative called the Entrepreneur Challenge.

For its participation in the Entrepreneur Challenge and in conjunction with Seaway Mall management, ACTION Corporation is sharing in the glory of the highly-coveted international marketing recognition.

"Our strategic planning services along with our website production services represented our contribution in the winning of this award," said ACTION Corporation President Paul Tomori.

"This award is our first as a company and we are proud that our first is also considered to be one of the most highly sought forms of recognition in the marketing division of our industry."

The MAXI Awards Program is an international marketing competition that recognizes excellence in shopping centre marketing. MAXI Awards have been given every year since 1972 to those shopping centres and companies that have designed and implemented the most successful marketing programs during the previous year.

In a bid to stir up entrepreneurial spirit, executives at Seaway Mall in Welland, Ontario turned to an American reality television show - Donald Trump's The Apprentice - for inspiration. The strategy was an effort to encourage budding entrepreneurs to launch new businesses. The TV-inspired brainstorm resulted in The Entrepreneur Challenge - a contest offering one winner a chance to launch a new business with start-up expenses and materials to run the business for a year, plus a space at the mall. The promotion prompted 11,000 hits to the mall's website.
